Contributed to multiple Emirates Airlines systems and applications, such as the core booking engine, which handles all web based flight ticket bookings. As well as added to the collection of UI library components.
Frontend developer on the MTN MyNextGen mobile application amongst other internal systems. I also created a bespoke OTP manager to improve the development and testing experience which has now been adopted by over 5 African markets.
Lead the frontend development for HappyPay, South Africa's fastest growing BNPL. During my tenure I was responsible for the frontend implementation, including the design system, the core application, and the merchant dashboard all of which were built using React and Next JS.
Led a team of developers and a product manager to deliver a real-time multi-client competition system for Old Mutual's "Going Digital" activation. The system handled user registration, participation validation for a Spin & Win wheel, voucher distribution to winners, and a dashboard for analytics and reporting. Delivered a month ahead of schedule and ran successfully across multiple regions nationwide.
Half a Minute is on online trivia game with over 500 unique playing cards, programmatically gathered through bespoke automation python scripts. The cards are then served from a custom Django RESTful API backend. The client side adds an easy to navigate and beautiful user-interface, team customisation, dice functionality, a team member randomiser and a countdown timer for users' convenience. Being a progressive web application (PWA), users can also save it as an app and use it offline at their leisure.
Zemali is a monthly budgeting/financial management and financial literacy application I built alongside a talented finance professional. It is a free to use application that aims to assist users manage their finances better. A slick and easy to use interface, with a focus on user experience, informative insights and analytical data and educational content build ontop of a modern tech stack makes this one of my favourite projects.
